In the UK Media Billionaires List 2026, which the Media Sovereignty Act Campaign is press-releasing today, 13 of the 15 media billionaire owners who dominate and dictate British politics are based abroad.

• 82% of British newspapers are owned by 3 billionaires domiciled in the US, Germany, and Monaco.
  
• 66% of UK media advertising revenues (£31 billion) go to 3 US-based billionaire corporations.
  
• 50% of our digital radio stations are owned by a billionaire who lives in Germany.

The list goes on.

We do NOT allow people who are not British or domiciled in Britain to vote in the UK.

We do NOT allow people who are not British or domiciled in Britain to make political donations.

Yet…

We allow our most powerful political force, the media, to be owned and dominated by people who do not live in, vote in or pay their personal taxes in the UK!!

This is nuts.

The party-political propaganda pumped out by the far-right media billionaires in the UK is worth £100s of millions and dwarfs party donations.

It repeatedly bullies and dictates British government policy in favour of the global billionaire elite.

They constantly attack climate action & promote hate towards war refugees.

We rightly regulate the democratic small stuff – individual voters and party donations.

Yet, by far the largest political force in British democracy is completely unregulated and captured by far-right offshore media billionaires.

It is time to take back control.

It is time for the Media Sovereignty Act, which ends foreign and domestic media billionaire-ism.
