The morning after the tinder-dry climate-trashed New Forest was set ablaze by a fossil-fuelled van on fire, the foreign billionaire owned Daily Mail had a farcical front page declaring: rewilding causes wildfires.
Despite wildfires springing up across the tinder-dry landscape, including golf courses, parks, grassland, crops, homes, pine forest plantations and nature reserves, the Mail managed to blame the UK’s minimal efforts to restore our decimated natural world.
We need more rewilding and no fossil fuels.
The billionaire media want no rewilding and more fossil fuels.
They are an existential threat to humanity.
We must end media billionairism before it ends us.

Britain has destroyed more of its wildlife than almost any nation on earth. There are efforts on just 1% of land so far to restore those precious landscapes, before we lose all of what remains.
Whilst the Mail story blaming rewilding included pictures of the New Forest fire, it of course was rewilded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, to protect its wildlife hunting resources.
The Mail naturally only spoke to the heathland arsonists whose millionaire landed gentry have devastatingly burnt our uplands for centuries, to facilitate grouse-hunting for their elite.
This has led to vast treeless and almost totally wildlife-bereft green deserts.
The lack of trees means no water retention to combat drought in summer, floods downhill in winter and hotter temperatures drying out the soils and exacerbating wildfires.
Draining these upland peatlands and marshes, the extermination of eco-system wetting beavers, the felling of our ancient temperate rainforests and the straightening of our rivers and streams have all disastrously exacerbated downhill town flooding in winter and dried out the land with droughts and wildfires in summer.
We need to urgently re-wet our peatlands, replace industrial sheep production with temperate rainforests and carry out an urgent beaver re-introduction programme across the land as soon as possible.
Ending media billionairism is key to protecting and restoring our natural world, protecting us from wildfires and floods, and switching to a clean energy economy as soon as possible.
